Up close

On a visit to Willowbank Wildlife Reserve some days ago, my grandchildren were fascinated by being able to view a kea up close in an aviary.  Keas are New Zealand's alpine parrots.

In extras there is a Waipu goat (a doe).  Originally brought to New Zealand in 1867, waipus are a rare breed of angora goat currently the subject of a breeding programme to increase their numbers.
