Bus Pass Walk
More bus riding than walking today as we travelled to Wakefield - passed through some interesting towns on the way there. We had lunch and then went to the cathedral where free lunchtime concerts are held. Today the cathedral organist was giving a recital. Photo is the view from my seat. An interesting mixture of music. At the end I think most were surprised to see that the organist was a fairly young man with a beard and long flowing hair! Not what most expected given his musical history as he seems to have done an awful lot in his life, so I think we all expected someone much older. We had a wander around the shops afterwards - so many shops and at least 2 large shopping centres there all set in a pedestrianised area. Very hot bus returning to Bradford and we hit school time so missed 2 buses back to the village. With a while to wait we wandered round the centre of town and Centenary Park, taking a closer look at the Tower of Now. The gardens which were newly planted last time I spent time there are coming on really well and are full of wildflowers and different grasses. A few more of Wakefield Cathedral and the tower in extras plus the information board about the tower.
