Testing
A long, long time ago, I would use my lovely DSLR to create interesting and odd pictures.
Today I absolutely dusted it off (plenty of dust to remove!) and played around with settings, textures, apertures, ISO...
Many pictures were taken, whilst figuring out different shutter speeds and remembering the old settings. And also, because it's an old DSLR, remembering to shoot in RAW for best tuning out of the camera - the JPGs it makes are quite compressy!
I had a play around with a couple of lenses, a super cheapo tele and my favourite low light lens, and realised - a lot of the good pictures I took previously were very flukey, and I need to practice more to get the skills back again.
The image quality, compared to other cameras nowadays, is really quite poor. My tiny little point-and-shoot takes much better pictures than this...
I did look on MPB to see how much I would get to trade in all of my stuff to sell towards purchasing a new super-camera (possibly Nikon Z?) but it was only about £350 for two camera bodies and six lenses - I paid probably around £3500 in total for all of it, between 15 and 20 years ago!
Oh dear. I will keep on for now, anyway. Whilst there are still cameras, there are still captures to be taken with them!
