The bubble

Vienna

It only took a couple of hours to get from Brno to Vienna. In fact it took almost as long once we arrived to find our hotel - looking on the opposite side of the road might have helped - to be fair google maps let us down slightly for the first time ever.

We stayed in the hotel trend savoyen which was absolutely fabulous understated minimalist glamour. Not my usual style but I would highly recommend an over night stop. Never had so many Gucci gadgets in a hotel room.

The staff were also great and put us in a top floor room with views over the city and the botanical gardens - slightly wasted on someone terrified of heights but it was worth it for the view.

A quick wash and straight out. We walked into town and hopped on a statutory open top bus tour - again if limited on time it's worth the two hour round trip.

We didn't go (should have thinking back) to the opera house. Apparently a different opera every single day and you can get standing tickets for 3 euros.

We weaved in and out of the strasse back to the hotel and had a traditional Austrian meal at a cute restaurant.

Vienna is definitely more than an over night stop. There is so much to see and so. A very stunning city. Very happy to have had the chance to call in.
