The bubble

Brno

Today we walked all around the town taking in as much as we could as we don't think it will be somewhere we will come back to without reason.

Mass in the cathedral at 10am was quite emotional. The congregation was full to capacity. The acoustics amazing.

We walked part of the small amount left of the city wall and weaves as many side streets as possible. It was 31 degrees by 11am so we were doing our best to stay in the shade.

We had a brunch in freedom square at 12pm. I say brunch - husband had pizza and I had a truly awesome pork fillet. The best I have ever had. Tabasco green chilli mild is now a firm fixture on my next shopping list. We sat in the square for a few hours with drinks watching the world go by.

At one stage I popped to the gents.... A kindly cleaner pointed out the error of my way and I left red faced in the direction she had pointed to the ladies.

Another couple of hours walking commenced.

We had an ice cream from a small shop near our hotel and as we were there popped in for a quick freshen up and change then out for a wander and some supper.

After not thinking we could drink another think husband managed three pints and myself two in freedom square. Austin trundled past on his way back to the hotel and had a quick chat - he didnt hang around long as he was suffering from his 5am finish last night - that or he's probably annoyed that the whole weekend I have called him eaton, euston or Anton. I have no idea why I had such a mental block with his name. I think as my hearing is so atrocious these days I panicked the two times I asked him to repeat his name and still didn't catch it and so made them all up. Ooops.

We could not face a full meal - if was still so hot. So we are ashamed to say we were true Brits abroad and consumed a subway vege salad and McDonalds back at the hotel.

Brno has been a lovely place to visit and our hotel perfect clean and friendly. But I feel we have covered Brno now although I am sure it has plenty more to offer than we have seen.

Ps husband found it mildly amusing he found midsummer murders on a Chanel in Czech - I do believe he would have watched it if he had been allowed.
