Garden Work
The picture shows some of the potatoes, which I earthed up today. They are looking pretty good just now. Beyond the potatoes you see the less cultivated "jungle", though even there you can see iris, lupins, and poppies.
I also worked with weeding the peas and providing them with some support. For every 10 peas I planted 1 or 2 came up. I was using some older dried peas, both home grown and commercial, as well as a new packet of peas. However, there really doesn't seem to be any difference in survival rates. It has been a fantastic year for many plants, which seem to like cool and rainy, but maybe it just didn't suit peas.
We also popped into town, both to leave stuff at the charity shop, and to do some shopping and pick up a parcel. As we drove in I noticed several people sitting in their garden, reading or just lying in the sun. Maybe I should try that sometime?
