A cloud cover could
mean that there's some rain in the
offing for today

I left for McArthur Island Park at 6. It's a grey start to the day so I don't hold much enthusiasm for my jaunt.

I parked near the Butterfly Garden to have a walk around. The daylilies are really grabbing attention. There is quite a variety of colours but I'm not there when the butterflies might appear.

I spotted a lovely doe that had found a patch of clover to enjoy. She paid no attention to me whatsoever, even when I drove up beside her.

I got a shot of the footbridge, then walked across it to get a look at my mountains across the slough. I found some painted stones that must have been left by children. I took a shot of the brightest on offer and left them all for others to find.

I drove to the south side of the park to find some marmots. They were in large numbers today, but very difficult to catch for a pose.

I had a conversation with a walker that I know as a quilter. She's looking for an underground sprinkling system for her yard. I gave her the name of my landscaper. We parted with laughter about how we each need to downsize.

I might just have the day to myself. That will be wonderful.
