Cupid’s Dart

Thank you for all your good wishes concerning Simon and Lloyd’s forthcoming marriage - we’re looking forward to our London trip very much.

Having said goodbye to the Meols family yesterday, we’re back with them today as car issues mean they need our help with transport. We decide we’ll stay overnight as we have an early appointment in Broadgreen hospital tomorrow.

Today’s blip is taken in our garden before we leave. It’s a new plant bought from  Pensychnant last week - one I was absolutely thrilled to find. Some years back, I found a beautiful little seedhead which I couldn’t identify. Looking at the buds of this new flower, I could see immediately that this was what I’d found and blipped - https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2890294802790745122

I discover it’s Cupid’s Dart - so named as apparently it was a popular ingredient in love potions - and in our garden, the buds are just opening. It’ll look very different when it’s fully open, I’m sure, but I rather like it as the light purple petals are unfurling, and the delicate scales that form the seedhead are clearly visible.
