BROKEN DOWN

Aaaarggh - this is the third time of thing to do this blip, as I've tried twice before via the phone and it waited until I almost finished then threw me out!

Today I had to go to Barrow for a Moving Forward course from Breast Cancer Now.  It's only two half days, today and next Monday.

Now I knew the AFC was close to Stollers and I was given directions from there.  As I knew about the roadworks at Newland (only about 100 yards) I decided to leave super early. I'm glad I did because it took me over 30 minutes just to get beyond that.

I still arrived a bit early so I parked in Stollers and popped over the Starbucks (not one of my favourite places but they have a loo and coffee).  I then went to find the entrance on foot as its not far.  I'm so glad I did because it's down a narrow track and not signposed.  I met the facilitatoir there and she advised that I moved the car from Stollers and went round to the front entrance, where you can't normally park but she spoke to the people there and they have given us permission to park there for our two half days as there are only 8 of us.

The course went well, emotional but well.  It came time to leave, I went to the car and I couldn't even get the driver's door open.  The facilitaor saw me and wouldn't leave me alone, so she went into Barrow AFC and two guys came out and had a ook.  Luckily my key fob has a hidden key so I got that out and managed to get in.  However that was it, the ignition wouldn't even turn round.  Flat Battery the guys said.

Now they wouldn't let me wait outside on my own, they showed me into the waiting area for the office, made a hot cup of tea and I was given a banana and some biscuits by the Facilitator.

After calling Hubby I phone the AA - now that a thing on its own.  Our cards were issued so long ago that they have now changed the telephone number.  They said they emaiil it to me.   I never got it.  I called again, wrote  the number down and called that.  This robotic voice kept trying to persuade me to use their App - Well I don't have it downloaded and wasn't going to start now.  Then the robotic voice wouldn't take my account number, they eventually put me through to a human - who found my account within seconds.

It will be at least 90 minutes before someone can get to you she said, even though I'm a female on my own!!!!

Well the guys were amazing, don't worry they said we''ll be here for much longer than that but they weren't happy about me having to wait so long so they contacted someone who went home and found some spark plugs and got the car starting for me again!!!!!

MY FAITH IN HUMAN NATURE IS BEING RESTORED.  For every Strumpet and FElon there are isare a lot of good people.

I'm not home, worn out a bit frazzled but safe and well.

Due to all this I've not been able to look at your Blips today, I will catch up with you tomorrow if you don't mind.

Do take great care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
