The Humble Wild Pansy

Aka Viola, Aka Heart's Ease, Aka Johnny Jump Up, my favorite name as it will pop up anywhere, even amongst the rocks on the garden path.  I planted some years ago and they self-seed.  The flowers are edible, with a mild winter green flavor.  I candied some and they were used on my wedding cake back in 1998. I've put a photo of the cake and my grandniece in the extras.  She and her sister were my attendants.  Pansies of all kinds were my grandmother's favorite flower.  Mine too.
