Distant Relatives

Wednesday morning; I’d only got the bad news 36 hours earlier but it was great to have my wee pal to look after – I took her up town to the Museum’s exhibition about primates. Not a great exhibition – certainly not for her age. And the museum was thronged as the school holidays have started AND it was chucking it down outside. Still, we got a seat at their balcony café awhile and she got to play in the green room.
Back home and the SK took over – making muffins was today’s big activity. I meanwhile decided it was time to let the wider world know – posting Monday’s blip entry of me walking away from the campsite and putting up a little Instagram story; both activities which choked me. Especially when people started responding.
But come 8pm the SK birrled me up to meet the chums. What a great crowd they are – we talked about all sorts of things quite naturally as they just knew the one big subject was a bit tough. Though McC and I had a little heart to heart – amusingly, a drunken woman at the adjoining table who we vaguely know started interrupting us at that point. And wouldn’t be telt. Eventually he could stand it no longer and nearly put her through the window (verbally I should add); he’s from Clydebank originally y’see. And big Robbo arrived to hear my news and was so very lovely. Unfortunately that was another whisky racked up in front of me.
Thanks to everyone here for the comments, hearts etc – I read them all, and they mean a lot. Another link – the son was briefly a blipper.
