Rain!
I can't begin to describe how happy I am now that the heatwave has finally broken! Its raining as I write this. The last three days have been really uncomfortable, humid. The temperature didn't go above 32⁰C (89.6⁰F) and there was very little wind for most of the day.
We went into Woerden this morning to get a few things. We got two sturdy desk fans, one for Little Man's bedroom and one for mine. They were on discount and I was able to use my points to bring the price down even further. It was a challenge wedging them under Little Man's pushchair¹, but we managed it. Little Man was very happy about the fans. His is running in his room now.
We got home and I put everything away. I'd bought a few packs of ice lollies to get us through the next few days (even though they are forecast as being a lot cooler than the last few days have been). Little Man really enjoys them.
We then biked to Reeuwijk for Little Man's speech therapy. He really enjoyed it, as normal, and is showing a lot of improvement with his language skills. It was a bit of challenge getting there as the wind had picked up and Little Man's hat kept blowing off (which meant I had to keep stopping to pick it up). The return journey was easy in comparison.
My life group is meeting tonight, and the children were also invited to join. However, I decided not to go as the heat has really gotten under both of our skins. I also didn't want to bike to Gouda, with Little Man, whilst there are thunderstorms looming. I also don't want it to be a late night for us (Little Man has just gone to bed).
¹I rarely use Little Man's pushchair these days. He's getting too big for it, so I'll only use it when we're going shopping. I don't want the stress of trying to keep Little Man with me, and do the shopping.
