Chilly but glorious
A 6 degree frost apparently but my cosy duvets and woollen underlay came to the fore overnight and kept me snuggly warm. Well, that and I left the heater on low all night haha.
Decided today was going to be a longer trip and opted for the Lindis Pass. There's still quite a bit of snow up there and it was very icy underfoot but I still enjoyed a short walk and plenty of time in the white stuff. I wasn't alone though, and dozens of other snow worshippers were out and about enjoying it all. For some it looked and sounded like a whole new experience whilst for others, it was a playful interlude after a few days hiking in the Mt Aspiring area. Ahhh....the joys of youth and fitness!
Extra is a little snow family I found at the lookout area, all carefully crafted by some excited youngsters no doubt.
Back to base via a fresh water fill-up, dump station and fuel fill-up. The longer drive also topped up the house batteries so feeling domestically content and ready for whatever the skies throw down on us tonight! Might even be a smattering of the white stuff, who knows......
