Chamois Twins Learning …
… lessons of hard rock negotiation near Famelon, Leysin today. I’d just said to Francoise, « Those turds look very fresh. » and saw movement out of the corner of my eye. There was a little herd of three mother chamois and their cabris (the name for baby chamois) trotting over the limestone pavement to our left. The must be three or four weeks old now and are already popping out their horn buds. For obvious reasons reasons they are born without horns. It was good to get up in the cooler air, at home it is still 32°C. The cats haven’t been out at all today!
