Stonechats

A morning walk up the valley brings more avian possibilities - but today it’s stonechats rather than swallows. I love these perky little birds but haven’t managed to photograph them for ages. They pose beautifully on the top of bushes and branches - or in this case bracken, but they’re also flighty, and I find they fly off at the mere sight of my camera. Either that, or they’re just too far away, though occasionally - as today - they’re more cooperative!

The afternoon is dedicated to tennis. Usually, I tend to wait until the second week before obsessively watching, but the number of Brits playing combined with Alcaraz’s five setter means I’m watching for far longer than I’d planned! And I’ve realised from this weekend onwards things get very busy so Wimbledon may well have to take a back seat!

There’s an extra which nearly was my main - I like the way he’s got his eye on that insect flying past!
