A Festival Of Small Talk On A Stick

Today was the usual Sunday food shop followed by our customary pint at The Horseshoes but instead of heading back home afterwards we remembered that there was a food and drink festival on at The Friars (our local Carmelite Priory).
Assuming the venue itself would be rammed on such a glorious day we made the decision to park the car in the village and then walk out to The Friars. Maybe not our best idea as we were already beginning to wilt in the baking heat (it was over 30 degrees C) by the time we got there but we were determined to have a stroll around the festival, try some of the food and of course see if we could capture an image or two.
It really was very busy and most people, after securing their food and drink needs, were sheltering in any shade that they could find. My shot was of those who were still happy enough to be out in the blistering sun. I just like the spread of people across the frame with the gloriously colourful stalls in the background (one of which was a purveyor of Korean corn dogs "and more" on a stick!) whether queuing for or contemplating their food choices and the guy sitting at the table in the white t-shirt sporting the words "small talk" (luckily for my title!) on the back -  all of which appeared to be completely oblivious to the man in the foreground concentrating on his phone.
After another circuit of the food stalls we settled on selecting a couple of bao buns, which neither of us had ever had before, and they were absolutely delicious!. By the time we'd consumed our buns, crouching in a slightly undignified manner in the only shady spot we could locate, we were really beginning to flag quite badly in the heat and decided it was time to head back home but we still throughly enjoyed our brief, and it must be said pretty sweaty, visit to the festival and it was really great to see so many people out enjoying themselves.
