Castle building
A day spent on the sands in Scarborough, oddly something I hardly ever did in all my years living in the town.
The kids eagerly dug holes in the sand, and rapidly made several little sandcastles. Then they spotted a nearby abandoned project, a large, moated sandcastle, which they started adding to like a team of efficient builders. Who needs Playstations when you have a sandy beach, a bucket and a spade? All around us there were dozens of happy kids, forgetting all their many toys and gadgets.
In the end it was all a race against the incoming tide, we had to shift camp, but the kids laughed as their huge castle was engulfed, and started another one...
