For canalgal
I think the heat got to drivers today. Even on my cycle to work this morning I was close-passed and nearly side-swiped, and when riding home I had two more close passes, and I had to do an emergency stop when someone "forgot" I was there and nearly drove into me whilst turning right. At least that driver realised what she had nearly done and gestured apologies with her head in her hands.
It was overcast all day but scorchio nonetheless, and the office was stuffy, despite the work space having only me and my teammate in. By finishing time my head was stuffy too and I needed fresh air. It was quite a hard ride home, into strong wind almost all the way.
I took to the canal for a bit, for the coolth of the water and trees, and to say hello to the Ashley Terrace boathouse (rightly oft-blipped by @AndrewDBurns), which has always looked a wee bit crooked to me, but I've just realised that perhaps it's only the veranda that's crooked. The boathouse is the main base of the Edinburgh Union Canal Society and has been at this location for nearly 40 years.
