Drinks on the terrace before a performance of Tchaikovsky’s opera Pique Dame (aka Queen of Spades). It was a bit gloomy for two reasons: the grim plot and the fact that I had to watch it wearing sunglasses. My normal specs lost a screw a couple of hours before the start.
