St. Lawrence Martyr Church

The first game started at 8:50. We got there with time to set up our chairs and coolers under the canopy. It was a nice park with bleachers and real bathrooms - quite a difference from some we have been to. It was cloudy until the last game so we could tolerate the heat. I made roast beef wraps and super salad for lunch, filling and low cal. The boys were missing three key players and the scores reflected it. We lost all three games. An opposing player whacked Parker on the side of his hip with his stick during the second game, really too hard. Parker wasn’t able to complete the whole game. He played sparsely in the third. I felt terrible for him. One of our friend’s sons (on a different team but at the same tournament) was struck in the chest with a ball. Even with a chest protector, he started coughing up blood so he was in the ER according to our last status report. This game is brutal. Brooklyn was at the tournament with her friend Leah. They headed to the New Jersey beach area during our last game. We went back to our camper, rested a bit and got ready for church. This was our first visit to St. Lawrence Martyr parish. It looks less than19 years old but I could find no info on when their new church was built. We enjoyed the liturgy and music. We went to a TexMex restaurant so hubby could get his birria tacos. I had my standard salad; it was so flavorful. We are heading back to the camper to get everything ready for tomorrow’s 8:00 am game. Wishing you some wins this weekend. Stay safe.
