Wolf Creek Winery
Tuesday
When I was looking for things while we were up here, I came across a bike trail I wasn’t familiar with, the Portage Hike and bike trail, which runs for about 11 miles between Ravenna near our camp ground, and Kent, a university town to the west, so we did some of that this morning before it got unbearably hot. We chose the middle section where there would be more shade than cycling through the towns. We started in a place called Towners Woods, where there were some nice trails through woodland down to a small lake, which we would probably have done, if it hadn’t been so hot. I’ve added a collage from our ride, about 11 miles return, in extras.
We went back to the cool camper to change out of our cycling gear, and then went for a drive to visit Wolf Creek Winery about mid afternoon, a nice relaxing place to hang out on a hot humid afternoon. We shared the flight of wines, accompanied by some crackers and a cream cheese. We weren’t particularly impressed, so we didn’t buy any. As you can see, they had a lovely view from their covered balcony, and they had a couple of goats for children to enjoy, who were sheltering in their own little covered deck! After that, it was back to the campground.
