So Good l saw it Twice

Three hours with Ruby this morning, brainstorming ideas for music and rehearsing the bits she has already put together.
Home and some food prep for the next couple of days.

Rebecca came after school for an early dinner then we drove into Leeds to collect Kitty from Northern Ballet at 7pm the went straight to the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

The site of the school is a former synagogue, one of the first in Leeds . In the late  19thC and early 20thC Jewish migrants broke their  journey in this city when they were fleeing the progroms that drove communities out parts of Eastern Europe. Many made their  way to England and landed at Hull with the intention of going by train to Liverpool to catch a boat to America. Some ran out of money and only got as far as Leeds which is situated about halfway between the ports. A community settled and grew here and greatly contributed to the cities wealth.
I remember the synagogue in use in my formative years but as the community grew more prosperous many moved to the outskirts of Leeds and the synagogue eventually closed before an extensive transformation into this world class dance academy.

When we went to see Verity for the second time tonight we sat upstairs ( a first for me in this building) and it was interesting to see lots of beautiful features that still remain.

Enjoyed seeing Verity just as much the second time and there was a little graduation ceremony afterwards.
Home now and in bed, full day rehearsal including our first dress rehearsal tomorrow.
