Church Bay in Kramfors

Our electric car had its service this morning in Kramfors. The workshop is just outside town and we left the car there and walked into town along a footpath running alongside Kyrkviken - Church Bay; the water seen in my blip. In the days before roads and railways the easiest way to travel (to church or market) was on the water (or in winter the ice). Hence the name of this bay.
This picnic - barbecue spot is a ten minute walk from town, which is mostly off picture to the left. There are many similar spots along this lovely footpath, which goes around the whole bay.
Once in town we ate lunch at our favourite Kurdish restaurant, joined after a short while by Karin and Lonny who live nearby. We ended up sitting in the restaurant for a couple of hours, chatting to each other and topping up our calories with a round of the home-made baklava.
As we ate lunch and chatted the workshop phoned to say the car was ready, and outside it started to rain. We were prepared for a walk in the rain but were also happy to accept a lift from Karin, saving us the soggy walk.
Once home we did a little sorting, preparing piles for recycling, charity shops, and friends. Jan had been working hard sorting in The Red House and I was amazed to see how tidy it looked upstairs and how much room there was.
Soon it will be my turn to take over...
