Herm

An early start today as we had a plane booked to fly to Alderney. Unfortunately we arrived at the airport to rain and fog. The plane was delayed at first for about an hour but as the time went on, with no guarantee of flying before early afternoon, we made the decision to not go as our time there would have been too limited. After getting a refund we headed back to town and hopped on a boat to Herm. As we sailed out of port the sun came out.
Herm is a beautiful island, it’s said to be the Caribbean in the Channel Islands and we could see why. We walked around the island, ending up at Shell Bay. Following an ice cream we went for a swim, the water was beautiful. After sitting on the near deserted beach for a while we sauntered back to the port and having seen all the oyster beds earlier decided to try the famous Herm oysters and a glass of bubbly……. Delicious. We then ended our lovely afternoon with fish and chips in town, happy we had salvaged the day in style after a disappointing start.
