Shopping baskets full
A female buff tailed bumble bee on its way around the flower beds with strikingly full looking pollen baskets. I don't normally do "bum" shots, as I like the subject's face to be in view, but this does seem to be the best angle for those baskets.
It's been a disappointing day, very much not what I had planned. The BMW dealership hadn't got my bike ready when I arrived as it was awaiting a part that they had been expecting to have been delivered. So instead, they provided me with a loan bike, which turned out to be the current S1000XR - a sort of tallish sports tourer, in many ways it fills the same market segment occupied by the Ducati Multistrada that I used to own. Fortunately this one was the lowered suspension version which meant that I could get a foot on the ground. It handled beautifully, and accelerated dangerously quickly once it got past 4,000 revs - license losing territory in the blink of an eye/flick of the wrist. I understood why the BMW lady said to me that I'd need be responsible for any speeding tickets as she handed me the key. It was interesting to try out, but I really wouldn't want to own it, its in line 4 cylinders are bland at low revs and only really come alive when you use their mid/upper range - which is practically impossible on UK roads.
