a lifetime burning

I had one of those nights last night - you know, where you wake up in the very early hours and then gradually watch the sky lighten.  I'll definitely need a snooze later on to catch up.

Our 12 year old built in oven broke last week (the heat proof glass cracked), and although it ought to be repairable, the relevant part wasn't in stock anywhere, and the manufacturer couldn't assist as to when, or if, it ever would be.  I imagine that  my regular bread making contributed to the part failure.

Today the new one has been fitted, and I've taken the old one to the recycling centre.  I was slightly worried that the old oven would be a bit too heavy to manage on my own, but once I'd taken the door off, it was fine.  It made a brilliant noise when it dropped into the skip...

It also just fitted in the car, with the seats down.  The rattly drive to the recycling centre was bizarre, as I kept getting a cognitive disconnect on  seeing the front control panel of the oven every time I looked in my driving mirror.  I blame the regular bread making for that too.
