Nordkettenbahnen

Using a funicular railway (designed, again, by Zara Hadid) and then two cable cars I reached the station near the 2334 metres summit of Hafelekar, to which I then walked. The views of the mountains and down to Innsbruck were spectacular.

There were lots of smallish black birds, with pale yellow beaks. They looked a bit like choughs but the ones I had seen before had red beaks and made a distinctive sound. I researched it when I got down from the mountain - they were Alpine Choughs. So, I was chuffed!
