Linda’s preview
Despite a bad night - I blame the coffee - we eventually got ourselves organised for the train to Edinburgh.
First stop was David Bann for lunch at 2pm which we enjoyed. Then we walked down to the City Art Centre for the John Bellany exhibition. Chloe wanted to go as her parents were friends of his - her dad was a sculptor, part of the London group like Bellany. We also saw Out of Chaos, Scottish art from 1945. I wish my leg hadn’t been so sore as it was hard getting round.
The next event wasn’t till 6 so we walked through Princes Street Gardens as I wanted to show Chloe Wojtek the Polish soldier bear in remembrance of our mutual friend Anna, sadly dead now, whose parents were Polish and fought at Monte Casino where Wojtek also was with the Polish Army.
I was flagging so Mr C got us all an Uber to the Dovecote where Linda and others in her art group had the preview of their exhibition. Katy and Chris had also come. It was a very successful event but too hot so we repaired to the Royal Oak for a drink before walking down the Bridges for our 8.07 train. Almost 10,000 steps today and I’m suffering for it.
Here’s Linda and her paintings. On at the Dovecote till Sunday if you are in the area.
