Balloon Flowers (Platycodon grandiflorus)
Last day before first camping trip = a lot to do. Thankfully, we aren’t leaving until mid-morning tomorrow. It is way too hot to load the camper in advance. It’s only 95°F ( 105°F heat index) which is cooler than yesterday but you certainly do not feel cooler. Hubby got up early and replaced the camper exterior molding and patched the awning where it meets the metal. I changed bed linens and then we picked the few ripe blueberries on the bushes. We will have more ripe ones when we return. These balloon flowers are blooming in my formal garden. I used to have white and pink ones as well. Guess I need to refresh the bulbs next year. I bagged the frozen berries and washed/dried the new ones for freezing. Hubby put clothes, etc in the camper, anything that won’t be affected by the heat. Jamie asked us to check in his pups everyone working in their office today. I dropped off yellow squash and more lettuce for them. We receive coupons for a birthday sandwich from Mission BBQ. I cashed mine in today. Then we shopped for groceries. Did laundry after putting everything away. We are going to my sister’s later today to water her plants. One of her friends took care of that task last week. Our underground sprinklers were one of our best investments. They relieve my worries when we are away. I still have a few plants the sprinklers do not reach. May have to ask someone to water them while we are away. We will have salad for dinner. Otherwise, the recliner is calling my name. Wishing you moderate temps. Stay safe. Thanks for stopping by. “In the garden of life, purple blossoms bloom, bringing joy in every petal.” — Unknown
