Stockholm Day 1

Up pretty early. I’m not feeling 100 percent I still have the remnants of this cold hanging around making me feel stuffed up , foggy head and sinusy.

Had a nice breakfast at the hotel and also a peaceful sleep. It was quite busy at breakfast what with it being Midsummer here and it’s a holiday.

We walked down to the place where the ferries come and go . It was a beautiful sunny morning and we sat for a while watching the comings and going of the boats. Had a walk to the old town and stopped for a coffee.

We decided that we wanted to go to the Fotografiska Museum, a museum of Photography, Art and Culture. There was an exhibition on showing the work of Antonio Corbin, showing photos of his work from the 1970s to the present day. There were also a few other exhibitions of photography and art.

Cornijn was my favourite though. There was a QR code next to a few of them to listen to the story behind the picture. The one of the Stones was particularly good, also the Bowie one. I’d definitely recommend this. The ey also had a very good gift shop, lots of books etc, but we bought a fridge magnet of our favourite photo.

After this we went upstairs to the Bistro which has seats overlooking the water. It was great sitting there watching the ships and ferries go up and down.

Walked back to the main area and wandered around d just taking in the area and seeing the different type of architecture of the Baltic countries. We came across a protest . It was Iranians in favour of the son of the Shah (I think) coming back and going into power. There was quite a turn out.

As I said, I wasn’t feeling that great so we were back at the hotel around 6. Hung around there and had an early night. I think sleeping by 945!
