Strawberry Crop…..!!

Not great…they do their ‘own thing’ really….  I don’t look after them very well..!!
And I had an actual battle with a blackbird who got my first few larger ripe ones…he was so quick …I saw them late evening….went out next morning at least what I thought was early but he was obviously up before me…I stared in disbelief at the green ends….so I moved them into my glasshouse and shut the door!!!
Also my friend whose son farms brought me some straw and that’s a great help too to protect them from the damp compost..!!

A strawberry traybake Madeira cake with fresh strawberry and jelly topping in the offing this afternoon….!!

Extra…two paint samples as I plan on painting my windowsills and plinth a deeper colour….!! If it would only stop raining long enough.!!
And oh my goodness….does anyone else have such serious debate over choosing colours…!!!!?????
These sample cans are the business…..hadn’t realised you could get them in outdoor paint.!! Hopefully they’ll help us make the final decision…:))
