Not Cricket

I was up earlier than usual today, and got a load of laundry done and dried.

Later I had a walk into town to find a Blip and to pick up a few things from Savers discount store that we'd run out of.

It was really hot and town was bustling. Nothing Blippable was jumping out at me until I saw this cricket on a street sign.  I thought it was a grasshopper but it turns out it's a type of cricket. This type -Roesel's bush cricket - is usually wingless, but rare forms do have wings. The one I saw could fly! It was so pretty and I feel lucky to have got to see it.

What this one was doing in the middle of town, nowhere near any bushes or grass remains a mystery...
