Life's Little Moments

Tiny Spidey

This is actually one of the largest Orchard Orbweavers I've seen, possibly coming in at about 1/4 inch.  Based on the size, I am going to assume this is a female although I could be totally wrong.  Still, she/he is lovely and almost appears to be a small jewel suspended over a section of my phlox patch.  She hunts in the traditional spider way, by sitting in her web and waiting for something to get snared - at which point she will race out, subdue the prey, wrap it up, and scurry back to her spot.

The "heat dome" has officially arrived in our area and the high hitting 95 F and humidity in the sticky level.  I guess this will prepare me for the Amazon rain forest.  Jax and I made a few trips out, but mostly stayed inside.  I worked on some stuff for my parents and some more editing of photos.  Two more days of this before we return to more normal summer temps.  Which is okay because I really do have some things I need to work on.

Don't forget that tomorrow is TinyTuesday - no theme, just make it something tiny, or a tiny part of something bigger.

xoxo
