A temporary blip pause

Life has been busy lately - here's a list...
Birthdays, gardening, Midsummer, friends coming round, us going round to friends, car service, van repairs, summer...
Of course, all this is the same for HarlingDarling, who blipped everyday anyway but I can only conclude she is more dedicated, or can multi-task better, than me. Anyway, the photos are there and chosen so there will be some backblipping going on to fill the gap.
On to today! Summer seems to have crashed to a halt with an outdoor temperature of 11°C and drizzle falling all day. The house felt so chilly this morning that Jan lit the wood-burner. That isn't supposed to be necessary only a couple of days after Midsummer!
Despite the drizzle I was out in the garden planting two cardoons that Jan got as a birthday present from Claire. I'd never heard of them until now so it'll be interesting to see how they grow.
I also noticed the candles / flowers on our horse chestnut tree are turning slightly pink, and some tiny chestnuts are forming lower down on the flower.
Both the recently planted potatoes and peas are starting to grow.
So, despite the rain there is still news, and a blip, from the garden.
One backblip for today and that's yesterday's summer reflection.
