a lifetime burning

Swaying

With the strong breeze today it was a bit hit and miss with the macro photography.  I ended up getting lucky with this beetle on a santolina flower.  The plant grows quite close to the ground in a strong clump so doesn't move about as much as some in the wind.   The beetle might be the male of the thick thighed beetle, perhaps.

I had to go into Bristol for a routine blood test, and separately elsewhere in Bristol for some boosters for my travel vaccinations, and finally to drop of a letter.  Parking and traffic being what they are I used the bike.  Wind aside the dry sunny but not too hot conditions were perfect for 2 wheels and finding it very therapeutic I took a bit of roundabout route coming back with a large grin on my face.

It's Bristol again tomorrow - I have to take the car into the dealership for its service.  The journey won't be as much fun, for sure.
