Heat Wave a-comin'

The squalls of yesterday brought the heat with them and a warning that it will be here for a few days. Hope it isn't going to be too bad as we have no air-conditioning here! 

Today's wildlife sightings included the family of mallard ducks, the snapping turtle (who kept his distance from the dock today) the ever-present beaver, and the beautiful Prairie Warbler! (extra) 

Merlin keeps identifying the calls of various warblers, but I have been unable to spot them or photograph them. This one was a real treat as I could see him from the porch! 

The excitement  of the day was having my daughter and SIL spend the afternoon here with us. It was a calm day on the water and they wanted to take advantage of that to practise on their foil..no sail, just being towed behind the boat. (extra) My sister and I tagged along for the ride. 
 
Later my brother joined us and stayed for dinner...so it was a fun family afternoon - a bit too hot, but still fun.  

PS: I couldn't help myself; I felt compelled to turn on CNN and CBC before bed, for an update on Iran..not the best way to end a good day!
