Parched

I have finished banishing 'no mow May'.  Having strimmed off the long grasses on Friday, I mowed the lawn. No neatly patterned lines but it looks OK and hopefully Rocky the cat will not get as itchy as he has been lately. I've left just a few patches of wild flowers (aka weeds) to placate the pollinators. 

I was listening to Test Match Special whilst doing the mowing.  It's a very finely balanced match between England and India and , although it led to play ending early for the day, they did have rain in Leeds.

Certainly,  mowing the lawn has shown, quite starkly, how parched it has become with the lack of rain here in Surrey. There's a little rain forecast overnight and some more on Thursday but we'll need a lot more to make up for the drought conditions we have been experiencing recently.
