Flash

It was this dragonfly's wings that first caught my attention. We'd had to pull over while Richard took a call about 2 women shoplifting in his shop, and while waiting I spotted a moorhen I thought I'd photograph. Then the dragonfly flashed past me with its wings glistening gold in the sun and I was smitten. Here are the glistening wings

I was full of good intentions today. Richard finished work at lunchtime and I planned a really simple 4-step afternoon:
1. Lunch
2. Walk to Woolacombe from Putsborough dunes and back across the beach
3. Do gardening (me) and mow the lawn (Richard)
4. Sit in a garden chair and drink tea

It all went to plan (barring the phone calls about the shoplifting) and we did indeed get to sit in the garden and drink tea. For 5 minutes.

I've been treading carefully around Gemma for a while (perhaps too carefully) but this evening I managed a fine, shouty, door-slamming fish wife. I feel annoyed with myself for losing control (of myself not her. I never to want to control my kids), but it was a bit of a camel:straw situation, and with all the mental struggles I'm fighting recently I could do with not feeling like something someone's scraped off their shoe...

Tomorrow is my 2-year blipday. I'm planning something a bit special. With emphasis on "a bit". Not a special photo because I have no idea what that will be, but something else...

This was nearly today's photo but Richard said I should use the dragonfly
