Hill, hiding

The promise of haar when I got up in the middle of the night was fulfilled till well into the afternoon, when it rained.

However, it meant I got things done. Walked to Margiotta for citrus fruits and then drove to sort out Mum's blocked card and after a fruitless wait in Boots was recommended to make an appointment at the optician. Made and bottled the elderflower cordial and bought Politics and Book Festival tickets. Also did the weekend housework.

The skies did brighten up so I watered some herbs that were suffering after yesterday and dead headed roses. 

I tried to read my book at various times throughout the day but couldn't settle.  Made a sauce from my pasta with dying stuff from the fridge and basil. Ate too much. 

It was still light, of course, so I did sit out the front for a bit but I'd acquired a niggle in my back so just couldn't get comfortable and it was cloudy. 

Tried to watch a film but gave up before 10. Tired and bored.
