Hairy legs

Yesterday's more exciting day is backblipped.

I'm going to need some help identifying this damselfly that landed on my pareo while I was lazing by the river. It stayed for ages, and at one point another that was clearly the same species arrived. I thought I was going to see some damselfly-on-damselfly action, but no: they studiously ignored each other. I'm surprised at how good the little Sony is for macros if you keep it at its widest aperture and get in close.

We went to the river earlier than yesterday, taking a picnic lunch with us. We had a dip first -- the water was divine. It's not a good place for serious swimming -- too much weed in the centre of the channel -- but it's great for slipping in, swimming a short distance, then sitting on the convenient rock ledge where there's enough water to come up to your neck and enjoying the cool water. Hardly anyone about.  A couple of hours were enough, and when we left the post-lunch crowd was just arriving.

A quiet afternoon in the cool of the house, and in the early evening J-C and B came over to talk houses over a glass of rosé.
