Sunshine After The Rain

Another hot and muggy day - for the most part. I went to the gym as early as I could, but it was still touching 30 degrees in there at one point. Managed to complete my workout, but very hot and sticky by the end.
It started spitting with rain as I left, but it didn’t turn into anything significant.
A quick visit to M&S was pleasant, mainly because the store was air conditioned. Like walking into a sauna when we went back outside though.
The plan for this afternoon was to have gone to see/join in with this year’s “Dave Day” ride as it turned on to the A590. Really didn’t fancy getting togged up in all the gear in this heat, but the final decision was made for me when quite heavy rain arrived just at the time I would have been setting off. Feel a bit sorry for all those who had ridden up from London in the dry, only to get soaked in the last few miles!
Some nice blue skies now but it doesn’t really feel any fresher. Thunderstorms still promised for later on tonight, and tomorrow’s forecast is for temperatures some 10 degrees lower, so hopefully it’ll be a more active day - this afternoon has been mainly spent either asleep or sitting as still as possible in whatever bit of a breeze I could find. Even just typing this blip has felt like a workout!
