Update:
This morning the coach dropped us all off in the centre of Aberdeen for some free time. As it was already warm (23 or so) we two headed for the art gallery. Impressive interior housing multiple exhibitions, and two cafes! We spent a while there and then explored a bit around the surrounding area. After lunch we were picked up again and joined by a guide for a tour of the sights of Aberdeen. Several stops around the town including Old Aberdeen, the beach including a look at Fittie and ending up by Marischal college. By now the temperature was up around 27 degrees so we were glad of the air conditioning on the coach. Then it was onto the ferry for the overnight trip to Lerwick.
