HOT in Penrith.. and everywhere else
It was when we drove down to Nottingham last month in 27 degrees we discovered the Air con wasn't very efficient. It was blowing luke warm
So I booked the car in the garage for yesterday. ... the hottest day in the year! A long 60 miles on the motorway with the windows open .
We left the car at the garage and walked into town.. about a mile and a half As much as possible we kept to the shadows. We were a bit concerned about Robbie but he was bouncing along.
We planned to eat in The Lemon Tree. Food is good and it's in the cool arcade . But it was closed for the holidays! The other nearby cafe was also closed for the holidays.
The only place we could find had tables outside. We could have sat inside but it was very warm in there.
We got Robbie in the shade and had toasted sandwiches and cool drinks so it was ok. Not often I'm pleased when the sun goes behind a cloud.
Blip.is the view of the churchyard. We strolled.round there before we made our way back to the garage.
It was definitely getting much hotter. We took our time walking back as its up hill all the way. We had a wander round Mountain Warehouse mainly because their air conditioning was arctic....lovely.
Robbie seemed to not notice the heat.
M and I were so glad the air-conditioning was working on the way home!
Fingers crossed it stays efficient. It may have a small leak. I have to monitor it over the next 2 weeks . If it's ok I pay them , if not we'll have to go back as it means there's a crack and it'll cost a bit more to repair.
Not many places would let you go home with paying anything straight away
