Look Out

Secret Hideaway

I took a few photos of flowers in the garden early on, meaning to use one of the day lilies (hemerocallis) which have just come out for today’s blip.

However, it’s this one of a geranium flower that I’m taken with, and the reason is the minuscule beetle lying low at the flower’s heart. Quite often when I take a photo of a flower it is only when looking at the image later that I notice the insect. So many are small and go unnoticed.

This is the second year that I have done very little in the garden, apart from mulching, and it is looking surprisingly OK. I’ve not used any containers, I can’t guarantee they would get watered when they need to be. Next year might be a different story.
