White Letter hairstreak

another scorcher of a day! managed to get out earlyish for my little local wander and I'm glad I did as it was butterflies galore at the nature reserve! I lost count of the marbled whites and meadow browns I got to see - hundreds!! - and also saw ringlets, commas, peacocks, small heaths, whites, skippers -and also got to see a couple of white letter hairstreaks which were my target species to find today - success!!  Also got to see some nice birds too  - yellow wagtail, yellowhammer, warblers and baby robins!

had to stop at a sweet shop on my walk back to get some cold refreshment, so discovered mango lime ribena which was rather nice!
