The accidental finding

It’s done! (Back Blip)

I don’t usually use the collage making tool but I wanted a ‘before and after’ set of images.

Steve went off to run his market stall. I put a note on local WhatsApp group about having some stuff to give away. Someone said she wanted stuff for a tombola, another said she’d take a flipchart pad for the Trinity rooms, and someone else said she’d look at poster paints for her childminding business.

Childminder arrived (late) and we chatted about childcare (that was my profession until three years ago) and I’d laid everything out on the dining room table for her to see, but she only took a small shoebox of paints and other materials.

Discouraged, I contacted some Sunday school owners that V had put me in touch with. They said they’d come round between two and three. I walked down to to town and, on the way back, collected a dehumidifier I’d arranged to borrow (the craft cupboard had got damp after I spilled something in it without noticing for weeks) . It was exceedingly heavy! I set it running, and waited for the couple to arrive.

When they finally turned up (late) the husband/pastor looked at the table, and said ‘we’re going to need some more bags’ and headed out to the car…The female of the couple (let’s call her H because I’ve forgotten her name ) did want to know what everything was and how it worked, though she is not the crafter: they have a tutor, whom she said would be delighted.

The upshot was that I was left with very little, which is brilliant. Now, back to the dehumidifier and the hot, hot study upstairs….
