Aaron's Rod

(Or mullein.) So called because of the story in the Bible of the Israelites disputing Aaron and Moses' authority. God told them to put a rod for each tribe, with the leader's name on it, in the Tabernacle, and overnight Aaron's rod not only blossomed, but had ripe almonds growing on it.

These are on the way to the clothesline (and lots of other places), a free gift that doesn't even seem to need watering.

Here, an article about "third places" that I loved - what third places do any of you have?

Gratefuls:
- a brief respite this morning of cooler air and a sprinkle of (dusty) rain, and some blue sky appearing
- scrubbing the ends of the caravan (though had to get Mike to do the high bits)
- Mike working on a set of shelves, so we can attach it to the wall high up, to make room for a hammock
- our first three ripe figs
