A BIG WALK
We had a big walk today from Geordie Bay to the central lighthouse, into the settlement and MrD walked home from the settlement while I caught the bus.
I'm a tad tired now.
A beautiful walk around the lakes on tracks specific for walkers.
The weather couldn't have been better.
We joined the tour of the lighthouse - 155 steps to the top.
Fascinating information. Limestone was sourced locally for the 39m build and the lighthouse was completed in 1896. Of course so much has changed - from oil burning lamp which was rated at the time as 45,000 candle power to now powered by LED.
Extras
two lakes
railing on the top
staircase inside - there are four levels to traverse in reaching the top.
lens through the upper floor

lightning rod on the wall.
That's it for today. More rain and wind to arrive tomorrow and the ferries have been cancelled for Friday and Saturday which means Angus, Scarlett and their mother won't be joining us for Saturday night. Disappointed.
