The western fells from Lorton Road
A decent day in West Cumbria. We went to view a property in Greysouthen in the morning. Beautiful but pushing the boundaries of affordability. Three more houses to see tomorrow. Today’s has set a benchmark.
Tried to follow a local route this afternoon, walking from the flat door. Rather good for most of the way, only occasionally could a footpath not be found. What we did fine was Stangers Spa, together with its holy well seemly dedicated to St Anna. Now derelict, the site has been protected and is maintained but I could find very little else about the well or spa.
A very enjoyable evening ensued at the Fellpack in Keswick where we met up with friends from Grange and two other friends from Kent who are having a few days break from the heat and humidity of Kent
