Calla Lilies
We had a day off, a treat. I slept in, hubby was up way too early. Last evening, the kids and any available grands came over for cake and gifts opening. Kristen designed a delicious cake made solely of fresh fruit. Brooklyn baked my fave - chocolate on chocolate. Kim brought a Father’s day gift for hubby also. I put some pics in yesterday’s extra section. Later we heard a chain saw that appeared to be on our property. Turns out, a tree fell on both our property and the neighbor’s last Friday while we were away. Hubby helped the neighbors cut, move and stack the pieces by our existing firewood. He used our log splitter today and then piled the pieces on a firewood rack. After taking photos of my calla lilies, I collected all of my garden lettuce. The temps will be in the 90°F this week and the lettuce will get bitter. I am hoping my children will help eat it all. I pulled weeds until I was a sweat ball then showered, ate breakfast and cleaned the kitchen. My sister and BIL were leaving for a doctor appt when Sugar got sick on the bed. There were packed for WV, planning to leave right after the appointment. I gladly washed their oversized bed linens; my washer is extra large. They stopped by and we exchanged linens for birthday cake and lettuce. Hopefully they will have no issues on the trip. My foot is rebelling after my exploits today so it’s recliner time. Hubby has a Knights’ meeting this evening. Hoping to make a roast beef dinner but Renee brought a casserole if we just want to eat that. Wishing you helpers when you need them. Stay safe. Thanks for visiting and all the birthday wishes yesterday. “A delicate lily in bloom. Standing tall. A perfect bloom. Radiating peace and beauty. A symbol of grace, hope, love and purity. The aroma of its petals fills the room.” - A.E Lee
